Default Radar detector use by geography

Not a scientific survey, but after comparing detector use that I see in cars out west, vs here in Florida, I see a LOT more detectors in Florida. I always look at cars in parking lots / malls / grocery store lots, etc and after a few weeks here, I see a noticeable difference. I can only surmise it comes from extra enforcement. I'm guessing the eastern half of the US has higher use of detectors per capita vs the west.

    Again, not very scientific.

That's a good idea. See if you can post a poll listing every state and we can figure out where the majority of radar detectors users are located...at least the ones that are smart enough to make it to this forum.

When we was on a short (5 hour) road trip to randolph county WV about a month ago there was as many RD's as GPS's on the road in a certain area we passed through. It is insane how one place there is few an far between, and the next place they are everywhere.

CA, where RDs are few and far between. Even on I-15 from LA to Vegas, one RD per 20 cars, if lucky.

Now that means the cops can be lazy and just run C/O. I like that.

Hell, CHP leaves their radar on while running laser! I like 1 mile laser warning by radar =)

Yah a poll would be cool, to see who's running what, in what state.

Yep I have noticed the same thing in my travels through most of CA. Agree, gota love the extra warning you get out here in CALI. I noticed the same thing w/CA drivers few and far inbetween w/the drivers owning RD's.
