First post guys, hows it going. Hellos from Tampa, Florida.
To start off, i have a 2006 Volkswagen Jetta. Its Black. Ill put pics up at the bottom
Right now, i have a V1. I have no idea what software, Its old. A friend gave it to me and ive used it for a year now, but he finally wants it back. That thing has been _amazing_ and ive learned a lot about how cops set up speed traps and its saved me many many times.
So, now that ive had it, i really cant drive without a detector. Before i go and spend 400 bucks on a new one, I have been thinking about getting some jammers since detectors dont do me any good with laser, and just getting a lesser detector.
First of all, I wanna start with two heads on the front of my car. (see pics at bottom) Im not too sure which brand to get. A local popular stereo shop here sells some jammers and detectors. I dont know much on price and specs, im going to visit them tomorrow.
Now, what about laws? Ive researched a long time ago and im under the impression that laser jammers are legal here in Florida, but i hear a lot of you saying "Jam Then Kill" ? So, should i wire them to an on/off switch? Will cops give me trouble for having/using them? I know the radar jammers are illegal, but why kill the laser jammers
Id like to get the jammers and the detector wired to an off/kill switch for those states that its illegal in. Someday when i can afford it.
And now detectors. If i get jammers, (itll be like what... $600 ish) i cant fit another V1 in my budget, yet. I need a cheaper but quality detector that i can get by on for a while just so i know when im getting hit with radar/laser?
Annnnd now placement. Here is basically what i have. Same color.
I am thinking to place them as follows: (Imagine them on the other pic, i dont feel like doing the photoshop. lol)
I think itll be good. Im worried about my windshield though. But i have giant headlights i need to cover. Thoughts?
Sorry for the long post. I need any helpful thoughts, tips, advice that you can think of while i try to decide what to go out and buy and do to my ride. Thanks so much.
