    Default Age old Question POP?

I live near San Antonio Texas. IS pop used in my general area? Should i turn it on or off? Will turning it off or on give any greater range on regular bands?

turning it on may increase KA sensitivity.

Sure you can, option "J" in the programming (not to be confused with "J" Alerts).

After I posted that, I went on to read the V-1 thread only to find out you can...

If it detects POP, does it give a full K/KA warning?

DPS does have some POP Bees in service but they are rarely used in POP mode.

    I'm not sure.

Has anyone ever had a confirmed POP hit on a V-1? If so, what happens, do you get one dot real quick or does it go the full 8 dots?

I believe that I encountered POP early last summer. What I saw was a steady stream (we're talking once every few seconds) of instant-on hits of strength proportional to my distance from the gun. In other words, the V1 treats it exactly like very short instant on bursts. If you are lucky you get lots and lots of them because the LEO thinks he can't be heard  . Can't remember what the warning range was, but it was pretty incredible by my standards.

I just called VR and spoke with a Tech. He told me that you will never know if you have been hit with POP, it acts just like a regular encounter with any K/KA hit.
