Default Vehicles with RD's and radar guidance systems

This has been stirring around in the back of my mind for quite some time: quite a few forum members have cars with various guidance functions that use radar in the same bands as police radar, so their cars cause their RD's to false constantly.
Disabling these systems can void warranties and set malfunction indicator lights.

Could a lead shield be made to cover the transmitters on these devices and absorb / attenuate the signals so they won't set the RD off? I'm intending this to be used ONLY by owners of the car--I do not intend this as a method to "sabotage" someone else's car.

How thick would such a shield have to be? 1/16"? 1/4" 1"?

Nine_c1? Fulcrum? Solion? EscortRadar? Anyone else?

I thought they use infra-red (LIDAR) systems, not radar....

I guess you can wrap the sensor in ridiculous amounts of that foam stuff that is used for detector testing, but I bet that if you block the sensor that well, it'll set off as many faults as just unplugging the thing.

And there's systems out there that use radar (K-band), LIDAR, or both.

Tune the cars transeivers to a frequency just out side of what RD's sweep.
