    Default 9500ix/V1/Redline Socal

I'm having a really hard time deciding between the 9500ix, V1, and Redline.

I live in Socal and drive around in the OC around UC Irvine. Occasionally, I drive down to San Diego to see my girlfriend. Currently I have a XTR-695 and the alerts sometimes are way too short noticed. My Whistler is usually quiet in the city on highway mode with all bands off except Ka.

I'm only looking at the 9500ix because of its GPS capabilities but I read many reviews saying there isn't enough detection range. I like the V1 with the arrows and rear antenna since I know CHP likes to come from behind usually. On the other hand, I heard falses might drive people nuts but my friend also says to run it in logic mode to reduce false alarms. The Redline on the other hand has TSR, frequency ID, and voice would seem to reduce false alarms without sacrificing much range except maybe to the rear which would be bad against CHP on the rear vs V1.

Any suggestions? I'm pretty much leaning towards the V1 right now. Thanks!

Im around the Irvine area. Wait and get the Beltronics STIR Plus when its released here soon, its the best RD $$ can buy. Has band segmentation etc. Problem with irvine is there is alot of lidar. U might want to consider a jammer but that comes with legal risks...so research and consider the outcome on that idea.

I ended up buying a Redline with SC55 GPS unit. Sensitivity of V1 with GPS integration and all the other goodies you're looking at. Not sure about now, but a month ago when I ordered, the SC55 was only available through Escort's website. The SC55 will also quiet down the Redline when under a user preset speed. I love this combination and happy I didn't settle for a V1 or 9500 series!

Great choice, I've used V1, 9500iX, and Redline.

I own a V1 and a 9500ix and have tested the RedLine. Against CHP in that area, I'd go with a 9500ix. Well over 90 percent of my CHP encounters in that area have been constant-on. The 9500ix gives plenty of warning against them. What you need most for that area is a laser jammer. That area is heavily patrolled by laser toting CHP moto units, shooting both Ultralytes and TruSpeeds.

Though the V1 can be quieted down pretty good i would go for the 9500IX, such a wonderful feature TrueLock is and speed sensitivity.
