Default Traffic Flow Sensors Rt 91 CT (TSR K-band)

The last 2 times I have driven on north bound Rt 91 in CT, just south of and heading toward Hartford, I was hit with a very short but full strength burst of K-band. It scared the crap out of me, but there was no LEO either time.

Could this be the same kind of Traffic Flow Sensors that they have in California, which Belscort made the TSR filter for?

that is very similar to my in counters. I have been hit with instant on before, and you can always see the LEO after. When they are setting a speed trap they have to sit right next to road to get a clear view. I have only been hit with IO in NY and that was KA. IO K would be very uncharacteristic of CT, because they almost exclusively use laser on highways. This is why I feel it is a Traffic Flow Sensor.

I guess the TSR function on the new Belscorts will become a must have feature, if TFS are being used more. Or if you have a GPS based one you can filter it out. I don't car about false alerts in the city, but IO on the highway at high speeds will scare the crap out of you!

Does anyone know if TSR filtering reduces sensitivity to regular IO from an LEO?

    Wrong.

I go to school at the University of Hartford in West Hartford, CT. On weekends, I travel back to my house in Wilbraham, MA(about a 45 minute drive). I travel 91 South/North every single Friday afternoon(on my way home from school) and every Sunday night(on my way back to school) and I have seen my rabbits get blasted on I/O K band. CT State troopers also shoot moving I/O Ka. And yes, they do use laser but it is certainly not exclusive.

Honestly, I'm not really sure I can single out what type of radar/laser any LEO's use anymore. I went skiing last week and was 100 percent sure; the Mass state police only used K and Laser. When I caught a Ka alert on my V1 on the Mass Pike I was baffled. I was going 90 in a 65. I slammed on my brakes, and about 8-9 seconds later I went around a bend and there the LEO was shooting C/O Ka. Moral of the story, expect anything.

Amen, I just turned on all of my bands again. Nothing stopping an officer from pulling out an x band gun as well.

Agree completly , you just never know, seems like every once in a great while you hear of somebody getting X or K band alerts and verifing a LEO using it. I would rather stick w/my loud chatter (all bands on) from the V1 than to get popped w/a ticket because I turned X or K band off.

So this is bizarre. So get this. I literally just posted my post above a few hours ago. Right after, I went out to the center of town(about a 15 minute drive) and I run into my locals shooting Ka parked on the side of the road. I was ONE HUNDRED PERCENT positive my locals only used K. I've been living here for almost three years and all I've run into is K band in my town. Well, tonight I ran into Ka. By golly, EXPECT ANYTHING.. What a weird coincidence, huh?
