It does. I sure wish I had a second detector with spec mode capable of being used alongside the V1 to confirm these things.
It is quite nice, and kinda makes you feel better when you confirm ether way.

For the readers who have trouble telling the difference between K and Ka, there are a couple things that helps me. With sight, on K band, the LED is to the left of the front arrow point, base line, that is what I have to refer to or I am lost. One could put black tape over the K band, no LED means K band but would confuse one with multiple bands. Old V1s had no LED for X band, solid LED for K band and blinking LED for Ka which does not give multiple bands. I think fast blinking was 34.7 when stalker came out at one time. But the best way to tell the difference between K and Ka is to use little l mode with K band arrows 7 and b down. What this does with the main volume at 3-4 o'clock (loud) and tab mute volume at 11-12 o'clock (quite), it puts the V1 in a two mode alert system, brake or let off of the gas. With a weak X/K band, the volume is low at tab setting (unless the CPU breaks in on X band or the K band mute times out at 30 seconds), and a Ka/Laser alert is at the loud main volume. I do not have to think about which band it is and it helps me from hitting the brakes hard every time the V1 alarms because weak X/K alarms are mostly at the lower volume and everthing else alarms at the loud volume which is a high priorty to put the foot on the brake. Hope this helps others because it helps me with I/O around, keeps me from slamming the brakes all the time. To bad Valentine does not use colored LEDs or blinking ones. But I suspect the future V1 will have some changes. Enjoy.....

V1's customization can be quite complex and confusing for us non-engineering types. Spending time getting the settings right for your area and preferences can be rewarding.

X2, my V1 went from chicken little to chicken little with a gag on for 30 seconds, love it.

    Huge improvement.

This is where the RedLine BLOWS AWAY the competition. Neither the V1 or M4 Belscorts can touch it. I had too many close encounters.......even with CO signals......where these detectors did not make a peep until I was in snowball range of the LEO. The RedLine is undoubtedly the most sensitive against off axis or forward facing..........I regularly pick up LEOs traveling or pointing perpendicular to my line of travel from 1/4 mile away.

Supposedly the Redline is the worlds most sensitive unit....Per Escort.

I agree, I been noticing this from my experience with both.

I would like to add - after about a month wit both detectors. I can honestly say, the Redline sheer performance is amazing. The range is AMAZING. Yesterday for example, leo at an accident was running c/o ka. The Redline alerted about 7 seconds before the V1.....and this is usually the case. I will def be buying another if need be. Thanks Escort.

    I agree 100 percent.

But i will say back in the day with the V1's best off axis sensitivity and comparing to an M4 i never had any issues with off axis. Sure i could nit pick why the V1 was better, but the off axis on the M4 was fine because it alerted to the most important threats, the immanent ones.
