Default List of false radar bands? K 24.141

Ok so on my way back from work i get a k band 24.141 go off. And it pretty much was going crazy all the way home, im guessing it was the suv behind me using some cheap thing.

Anyone have a list of real specs vs false specs and what they are from?

K band is 24.050 - 24.250, so real police radar and falses can exist anywhere within that band. Guns are designed to be at 24.150 but due to component tolerances, temperature and aging the frequency can drift. Therefore, frequencies on X and K aren't a foolproof way to tell falses from the real thing. 24.141 is only 9 MHz off the dead center of K band at 24.150, so it could very well be a real police radar, or it could be a false from a door opener, adaptive cruise control or lane assist "feature" in a car (though these usually occupy the upper part of the K range, 24.190 and higher). Bear in mind that Belscort's frequency display isn't a precision measurement either, it can be off by several MHz either way.

It could have been a real LEO in traffic, either in front of you or behind you.

Ka band is a different story though. Real police guns in North America operate at 33.8 (well, 33.7-33.9 or so), 34.7 (34.6-34.9), or 35.5 (35.4-35.6). Anything outside those ranges will typically be a false. Cobras in particular tend to false around 33.6 or 34.2.

    thanks for clearing that up.

Im pretty sure this one had to be the car behind me as there was no sight of police and it followed me for 15 miles half to full bar signal

Do you remember what kind of SUV? Chevy? Ford? Audi? BMW? Mercedes? Lexus?

If it was a Chevy or Ford maybe it was an unmarked police utility vehicle that had a radar? Or it could have been an active cruise control system.
