Default Hi Guys new here. Quick question about x50 vs. rx65...

and how are they superior to say the whistler 73? I recently got a ticket and I havent used a radar detector since like 98 after I noticed my cobra wasnt performing the same  We are now at 2006 and I'm sure technology has improved as well as LEO technology so I am in the market, as I am going through the speeding ticket pleading not guilty process. 75 in a 55 so he says. Anyway please, if you can tell me the pro and cons between the 2 greats and how they are superior to the whistler I would appreciate.

    rx65 better range
    rx65 no full alerts
    rx65 voice alerts
    rx65 can display 1k 1ka and 1 X at once

    x50 full alerts
x50 can display 2k 2ka and 4x at the same time

Sorry for the noob questions but was is the differences between:

    rx65 no full alerts
    and
    x50 full alerts

    rx65 can display 1k 1ka and 1 X at once
    and
x50 can display 2k 2ka and 4x at the same time

rx65 is the one that has International mode and USA mode? Would driving to Canada be a good time for the Int. mode? Does radarbuster have specials?

They both have better range then the 73

The RX65 is known to be a detector that even when you are right upon the 'source' the signal tone will not 'lock out' to a full alert, whereas the X50 will.

The RX65 AND X50 have a 'Bogey Counter' of sorts, so instead of showing one incoming band, they show numerous incoming bands all at one time, and it shows the relative signal strength of each. It is a good feature when going into a well known false area because the detector will show your normal false (s) and the presence of another signal.

also the X50 is better with Laser. but that doesnt matter unless you have other countermeasures such as Veil and a jammer.

Just to clarify between the "full alert"

The Escort at full strength will be a solid constant tone.

The Beltronics ramp up just the same as Escort but do not have a solid constant tone lock, it still is very much going ape shyt, but in my opinion is not as irritating. Also when The Beltronics is exposed to a instant on it is as close to the Escort as being solid tone. Don't think that the Beltronics is weaker at detecting a signal nor is alerting at a weaker strength compared to the Escort.

Search the forum for videos and you will see the difference.

At the simplest of comparision the only big diffeence between the two is that the Escort is much better with detecting laser. Beltronics has better performance with Ka radar.

Take your pick they are the best along with V1.

No not at all, its just your comparing 2 of the Top 3 (or 4) detectors in the entire world each being at over 300dollars to a Whistler 73.

They are two different target markets in my opinion:

For your average driver and average non-RD nut, the Pro-73 from Whistler should more then suffice... because not everyone wants to spend the $300, $320, $350 or more money on a detector.
