Questions about mounting for Detector and GPS

Hey all,

I'm wondering if anyone could tell where is the best place to mount your detector if you also plan on using your GPS unit. I usually have my detector mounted in the middle my windshield. I was thinking I should mount my GPS unit on the right bottom or right top of my windshield. Does having another object on the windshield affect a radar detector in any way?

When I had my ix I put my up high just above the rvm, close to the roof and I was still getting a signal.

It is to my understanding that a GPS unit shouldn't affect your radar detector unless you have a GPS feature in your radar detector, like the 9500ix or the GX65, I could be wrong on this, but I know that when I've used a GPS unit with my 8500 x50 I never had any problems and they were mounted right next to each other

One issue to watch for is to make sure the antenna of the detector is not near the screen of a GPS, it can create falses, usually laser.
