Another guy planning a roadtrip

The new wife and I will be heading down the east cost from Niagara Falls all the way to Tampa FL for our honeymoon. We were both born with lead feet and we'll both be driving taking turns. After some reading are there any states along the way that don't deserve our tourist dollars. I've heard VA is a hell hole and you can get a reckless charge for for doing 80 in a 70. Any other states I should avoid.

BTW VIRGINIA ARE YOU LISTENING? WE AREN'T SPENDING MONEY IN YOUR STATE!

We need to start boycotting areas with ridiculous laws. I'm an Ontarian and I wouldn't visit here with our laws.

Avoid va if you can but if you have to come through its just radar and laser mostly constant on so its not too bad. Now PA you should be careful not much radar/laser a lot of vascar/enrad which the best detector cant detect only your eyes can. You may encounter some rear laser on your way down especially in FL.

Looks like you will be on I 77 for a while. Watch in VA (where else ?) where it meets I 85. Its usually a feeding frenzy there. I would be careful even with any detector stuck to the windshield. Forget the spectre. They will stop and ticket you if they see it and NY plates are a big red flag. They are using chevy malibu unmarked there also. CB radio is worth its weight in gold with the rd.

Oh yeah I read niagra falls & thought NY but your from canada. In VA thats the same thing to them.

NC is almost as bad as VA. 80 is reckless and so is +15. I think there's some weird law that you technically can't get a fine for under +10 so I usually stay plus 9 if I don't have a rabbit. Just be careful going above 80 they definitely pull you over for that.

Even tho some people don't find trapster helpful I'd run it anyways cus it will point out good hiding spots that you won't be familiar with. A cb would really help. Good luck.

Thanks for the heads up. Guess Ontario isn't so bad we don't get into REAL trouble till we do 30mph (50 km/hr) over. Any cool truckstops along the way with used rd's and stuff?
