Default Get your own detector, I don't do rabbit

Two days ago I was doing a little night time driving with the detector mounted high below the tint, display on automatic, when I realized a vehicle close up behind me making every move that I made including changing lanes. After resolving that it was not a LEO I wondered what the driver was up to, then I noticed I forgot to put the display in dark mode. Oh no, I was being used as a rabbit. Clearly I DON'T DO RABBIT, I rabbitize, so I switched the detector to dark mode and lost the leech. Let the leech buy his own detector and stop leeching off my hard earned dollars. I believe in the spirit of giving and genorosity but not when it comes to sharing my detector. That's just wrong. Don't get me wrong, if I know you maybe you can borrow my Bel 940 (not my GX65) but not scrounge when I'm driving. Dude!

Of course now he's going to run out and buy the $30 Crapra at Wallyworld, and cause falses for the rest of us. And it'll be all your fault!

I never really understood the point of a V1 concealed display for "hiding" my detectors notifications from the prying eyes of other drivers. The person behind me would have to be pretty dang close to be able to see the notifications on detector, even mounted up by my rearview mirror!

It does really irritate me when people see your detector and follow you to know when to slow down. I had a guy with a cheap Cobra doing that to me on I-70 in Kansas; right after his detector failed to alert him to the C/O Ka band, he started following me. I finally pulled off at an exit so he would keep going!

Years ago my wife and I were on a trip and she offered to drive for a while. I reclined the passenger seat as far back as it would go and took a short nap. After about an hour she woke me up to tell me she thought we should stop for gas and we were coming up on an exit. She also mentioned that she seemed to have made a new friend. there was a Mercedes following her and had been almost since she took the wheel. When she signaled to exit he did the same, so I decided to keep a low profile. Sure enough he exited and followed her right to the gas station. Imagine his surprise when I raised up and climbed out of the car to pump the gas. I commented that we were making really good time, He didn't have much to say.
I'm not sure if he was interested in my car, my wife or my radar detector.

The consealed display also includes a mute button which is great when you don't want to be seen reaching up to your rear view mirror when someone is using you as a rabbit or worse a LEO.

You know what is really fun? Be the rabbit and do not hit the brakes, just coast for a C/O radar to the max limit you can get away with. The follower behind does not know and gets nailed. Or get hit with I/O and the follower gets blue lighted, I have seen that a few times. I can hear the other speeder tell the officer, "but sir, he was driving as fast as me, why did you not now pull him over too?".........

The CD is really cool for the remote mute button, but I think you would be very hard pressed to find anyone with vision capable enough to see the display on a V1 from behind as the site would like you to believe (unless of course they are practically right on your bumper).

They don't need to make out the individual LEDs, they only have to see things (ie the arrow) light up when there is an upcoming threat. A change in the display can be made out from a distance, even if details can't.

My point exactly. Well said. Anybody with a modicum of knowledge of what a detector display looks like can recognize the changing display of the detector when it alerts to a threat. I know from a distance when other drivers have a detector in their car. Maybe some cars have a display up high near the top of the windshield but I doubt any cars have a display mid-windshield. By the way, the other driver did wind up right on my bumper and stayed there for a while. That is what made me suspicious.
