Ladies and Gentleman of the Jury A short while back I brought a V1 .789 (I think) from trademe (ebay NZ) Sent it to the Sate's for the upgrade and today it arrived on my front door step just as I was about to walk out the door to work. I put it in the car thinking to myself “I’ll test it after work”. When my work finished I went to the 35.5 GHz drone that’s the same one I have been testing the Redline with.
Out of the box I turned X off only. Note looks like they turned pop on in the factory.
I placed the redline to the top left of my screen just under the tint, I then placed the upgraded V1 halfway down and to the right of the centre of the screen a good 18 inches apart maybe a little more. I turned the redline on waited a good 30 sec then power up the V1. I proceeded to my test site.
On the journey both detectors alerted to K band false alerts pretty much on par with each other maybe the V1 was .5 of a second faster on some occasions but much of a much. I then turned onto my 35.5 GHz Test Street the Redline alerted at about the same point it did yesterday the V1 was silent.........for about 2 sec and then bang Ka forward. To tell you the truth I was amazed with the new V1, not one of the past V1’s has ever come within 4 block’s of this detection including my 9 month old .872!!!!!!!!! I ran the run a few more time’s with similar results. In fact I did feel the V1 did interfere with the redline due to the V1 alerting 4-5 bars and the redline not at all on one occasion. I did a bunch of runs with individual detectors turned on. To my surprise the V1 beat the redline a few times on one occasion it alerted another block back from the best the redline has ever done to date this is a new record!!! Remember 35.5 GHz
Also Please remember I have had 6 V1’s .819,.824,.825,.826,.863,.872 this is my seventh and I’m pretty familiar with them.
I’m kinda sad because the new Redline was so much better than any other detector I have ever used before so this was a really exciting week for me thinking Gee I got the best and now 2 days after the redline I get back the upgraded flea bay V1 and bang this baby’s got it too! with arrows and Q/T but no stealth and no spec display. If my older (traded in for the redline) .872 was sick it didn’t tell me. Or maybe in the last 9 months VR have been addressing the 35.5 GHz issue and they have been able to pull more from the unit. Whatever has been happening be hide the scenes it’s all good that’s for sure. You know what I really do believe its folks just like you the forum member that help to keep them tidy. I’m going to do more testing tonight probably one unit at a time thou. You know at the moment I feel like I got my mojo back!
I do hope that the V1 doesn’t loss this sensitivity over time. At least I have the redline to keep it honest.
One confused Radar detector nerd.
