After living with the redline now, for the life of me I just can’t get my head around why people think it’s the best. It’s not by a long shot. The volume control you can’t turn it right down other than mute, while the mute function can’t be unmuted? The spec mode. If you have a lot of K band false alerts and a low powered Ka hit it alerts to the stronger K band false so you don’t know if the Ka is still about. I would like to see a preferred ban alert. You need Mr Gagoo glasses to use the “threat mode”. IMO they have to get a new display. It’s too small. The ramp up and the sleeping of the unit is a Ka filtering problem IMO (feels like it). The random Ka filtering sucks as well. I’m getting at least one Ka false alert a day My V1 would do it once every 3 months if that. Redline has an issue with 33.6GHz even yesterday 33.392 GHz what up with that? I didn’t know they built police radar down that low nor does the FCC! I could go on.....
Now the Good. Detection is stellar most of the time. Q/T has not been a problem I/O is good. It destroyed one of those 24.100 GHz mobile van camera’s the other day. I like the box and the mount (kind of). I like the volt meter. Stealth’s all good.
Sorry to say at $500 Redline is not as refined as the $400 V1 by a long shot. I guess they have got you in a corner if you live in one of the few areas where detectors are illegal.
This is how I feel about my new redline. I know I'm a zombie and now I see why.
