$100 will not get you even a mid end unit. I would save your money. If you want arrows, you have to go for the Valentine One, which is $400 new and $300+ used. The least expensive you can get a good unit for is $200, which is a refurbished Bel RX-65 directly from Escort Radar's eBay site. You can often find a Escort Passport 7500S for about $50-$100, but this is a 10 year old unit and it will not do nearly as well as more modern ones. If the budget is $100 now and later, the bottom line is that you are better off saving that money to pay off the ticket as $100 is not going to get you anywhere near 'acceptable' protection.

Whistler Pro 68se is a good detector for around 100.00. Depending on your area you might run a high end RD like a V1.

Vanman's not a used car salesman! You gotta spend more than 100 to get a good performer.

The escort 8500 refurbished is a good value from escorts store.

If you want arrows, you need the Valentine one which is 359$ from Valentine research if you ask for a returned unit.

Radar detectors will pay for themselves, so its worth it upfront!

The BEL V940 is the only device I'd consider at this price point. I think you can still buy it new for $120. It will be $80 - $100 used.

They ran out of refurbished Escort 8500s so he will have to settle for a more expensive and better Bel RX65 if he goes that route.
Dang dude, that's gay. I didn't know they sold out.

A used RX 65 is your best bet. It's not under 100 but it's a good unit and I would not waste my time on a 100 dollar unit. At 100 dollars you will have a false sense of security. Sorry we can't find something in your price range.

The truth is even with the best Radar Detector, Laser and Instant-on Radar is going to get you sooner or later. A false security and false hope esp with cheap equipment, it is a gamble so get ready to roll the dice. Even with the best equipment, you have to know how to speed and be smarter than the smartest bear, ain't that right Boo Boo......
