    Default Need radar detector serviced

I have several older model BEL STI-R products that BELSCORT will not service.

Can anyone recommend any other place that will service radar detectors???

They say they are "not on our repair list". When I inquire, they say they could be to old and dont have parts anymore. I insist on explaining to them that they use many of the same components are current models, but this is no help. Ever since they are no loner really "BELTRONICS LTD" they dont service anything it seems like.

    Anyone got any other ideas?

I've never heard of that before. Lots of people have had sti-r's serviced.

do they have the serial numbers on them. That is the only reason I've ever heard of Escort or Beltronics not servicing a product, because the serial number had been taken off

I think c5corvette may be referring to very old Beltronics detectors which we no longer support.

We still repair the M3-based STi-R Remote.

I just wrote a long response and it didnt show up. Bottom line is they all have serial numbers and they arent that damn old - they just dont have the $1500 price tag and the GPS and database stuff I dont need. I just need VG-2 immune and remote!

The V975R is being testing now in my car, works okay picking up grocery stores, but havent seen any cops yet.

The 815STiR does nothing but false and doesnt even pick up the grocery store doors when I drive in front of them.

The 615STiR is the one I'd really like fixed - I think its just got a cold solder on the power button. For the last few years when its cold outside you cant turn it off (or on). And all of the sudden the other day the power button doesnt work at all (unit wont come on.) I just need someone to look at it and I am willing to pay an out of warranty repair cost.

EscortRadar, are you sure your Service Manager won't reconsider? This is not rocket science.

    Thanks in advance,

VG2 is old and rarely used. You need Spectre immunity.

I'm sorry but we no longer support either the 815 or 615. There really is nothing that our service manager can do about it. It's been around 10 years since we produced them. You may be able to get replacement parts for them from a reseller on the internet.

VG2 immunity is a common feature on our detectors today. Spectre immunity can only be had on our Escort RedLine and 9500ci, Beltronics STi-Driver, Magnum and STI-R models.
