im going with F_399. a used 8500 i think is the best. you can get one thats like new off ebay in the 150-180 range

i think ebay is alright at times.

sold my X50 on ebay and i delivered it to the guy since he was close

when i bought my 8500 met this guy in starbucks... tested it so it was alright.

anothe option, get a friend who works in bestbuy and get an X50 red for less than 200

New and less that $200, I'd buy a Whistler Pro-73 from Roy ($144.99), and lasershield plate covers from Roy for the front and rear plates ($39.90 for 2). That brings you to $184.89 (free SH) and you get a pretty respectable detector and some minimal laser protection for front/rear.

I'd spend the other $15 at your local wally world or autozone to get two black plate frames to put the laser shields in.
