Default Escort Radar Inc. Files Suit Against Cobra Electronics!

Escort Radar filed suit today against Cobra Electronics for patent infringement.

Escort asserts that Cobra's iRadar and the iRadar Community App infringes on their Escort Live patent and other Radar Detector/GPS patents.

This is the 2nd suit that Escort has brought against Cobra, the 1st being in 2008 which was settled in Escort's favor.

Seems like they intend to make money on this one way or another... ZING!

    EDIT:
To completely honest here: I don't care what happens here one way or another, business going after business is capitalism in my books, that's why lawyers make so much money.

I don't particularly care for Cobra, but I THINK you are part of a smear campaign.

I haven't seen you mention a peep about the suit Fleming has against Escort for infringing on his Patent for using GPS enabled detectors to lock out false sources. That suit was filed back in March of 2009 and looks like Escort is on the ropes.

Fleming v. Escort Inc. et al :: Justia Dockets & Filings

As of this moment, it looks like the patent office has awarded the patent to Fleming.

If Fleming wins, this suit against Cobra will be trivial as Escort has extended that lockout capability to the Cloud..........meaning it may also be construed as infringing on Mr. Fleming's patent. Just a thought.

I was never aware of the Fleming suits, thanks for bringing them to my attention.

Not an attorney but would be interesting to see if Cobra had any licensing to the Fleming patent in this second suit.
However in the 1st judgement it is my understanding that part of the settlement was that Cobra would not use these same features in future detectors.
