After researching all the diffrent options i decided that a mixer was the best way to go for listing to the mp3 player and radar why'll riding. My question is where can i get a mixer? i only need 2 inputs for the mp3 player and radar and one output for the headphones.
If your lost to what i'm talking about its one of these, i'm just hoping to find somthing for half the cost.
I know how people hate ebay but this isnt a radar detector :-P ... <EBAY LINK REMOVED - JIMBONZZZ>
I believe they're 1/4" jacks not 1/8", so you'll need a few little adaptors that you can prolly find cheap online.
Oh and its $25, not $150. Heh.
That's probably your best option, being a biker and all - it's small and has expansion options for the future, in the event you want to have another input source, like Sirius Satellite Radio -- that way you're not switching plugs while you're on your bike and get into an accident.
That one also uses 1/8" inputs, whereas most real 'mixers' (a sound board) will have XLR, 1/4" and RCA inputs, and will require AC power.
I did a quick search for ya, and there's cheaper stuff out there that would do what you want, but they have 1/4" inputs, so you would need an adapter to convert 1/4" to 1/8", and they also require AC power... so you'd need to rig that upto your bike..
The Rolls MX56S Playmate Multi Input Mixer seems like it would do the trick.. it has battery power.. but you'd need to convert the 1/8" to 1/4"
Behringer (cheap and flimsy audio gear) has one also , but without battery power
