Default Hell-bent on trying either the rx-65 or newest V1.

I suppose I know the answer, but I'm going to ask anyway.

I'm using an x50 right now, and while I like it, I tend to miss what I had in my pre-pop 1.8 Valentine (rear antenna, casing, mount, arrows, usual stuff). One of the biggest interests is the newest "J function", which as I understand it, basically points out whether a Ka alert is really police-originated or just from a leaky windshield decoration in a nearby car.

And then there's the RX-65, the successor to my former v980 - I don't care about the voice, so I don't know what reason there is to try this.

It's not like I'd be out $400 since selling the (blue) x50 would recoup the majority of that cost, but ... I dunno. Any significant pros/cons from anyone?

Read this review and listen to what everybody says on this site and then go get a V1.

If your RX65 has been a disapointment go with either an Escort 8500 X50 or the V1.

all this damn V1 talk might make me friggin try one. Hell I can send it back if it sucks and can cut a piece of cardboard with tape to make my "dark mode" because hooking the concealed display would be more of a pain in the ass due to my set up. I like a quiet detector unless there is a real threat so that is the only thing holding me back. I wonder how quiet it would be if I got one, disable X, laser and mute all K band rear?

Stealthjamal since you like to own the best get the V1 and first disable X band, Laser, and keep it on the "L" mode which is Advanced Logic. DO NOT disable rear detection on K band. As a matter of fact just do the three things I just told you and you will be ONE HAPPY owner. You have NOTHING to lose by just trying one. It will sniff out your constant on threats from miles away TRUST ME! In fact it fits you perfect in your area. I will be VERY INTERESTED to hearing your experiences

Actually after further thought DO NOT buy the V1 because this is the only thing that I have up on you. If you buy the V1 then we are dead even and that would mean that I would have to make an upgrade VERY soon.

haha your in competitionw /him now happyass? Anyways--

I bought the V1 and it falsed to much for my taste, so I sent it back. I then bought another one because I thought I may have been to picky on it, and now it has a spot on my windshield reserved just for it I actually bought back my x50, so now I have 2 in operation. When I am in the city I switch on the x50, when I'm on the highway, I switch on the v1 (even though ohio use laser about 95% of the time). It is a dead heat between the two. There are some things that you will absolutley love & hate with the v1, but there are some things that you probibally love and hate about the x50, same with the RX65.

    - Cons
RX65 - I have heard that POP is a joke, no reliability. KA range is questionable.

V1 - Falses on K band common, and laser falses out the ass.

    + Pros
RX65 - Filtering is the one of the best

V1 - Arrows let you quickly identify sources of radar. The new J function will be an absolute must this summer. With the new stalker gun coming out late this year with 1 mile same lane capability, the rear antenna is going to be a must on radar detectors.

So really it depends on where you live. If your escort was falsing a lot in the city- then DEF dont get the V1. If your escort didnt false very much in the city, I would give it a chance and order the v1.

Even if you don't like any of the detectors, you can return them for your money back.
