Its YT, been a long time since I've been on here but finally back on. In 7 days I'll be back from my tour overseas living stateside again. Been gone for over a year now, I'll be buying a car when I get home and would like to upgrade its countermeasures for sure. Need help doing that, especially with all the new models and technology out.

I've had the V1 for a couple years now and absolutely hate it. Granted the arrows are a convince, but when it comes to just about everything else I dislike it a lot. Detection is poor in my area where 35.5 is all but too common. Having the STI before this, the STI made it look real bad in most all encounters.

I'm looking at a couple different options. I want a custom installed detector, the best basically with GPS connectivity and undetectable. I'd rather not have the crappy ZR4's and looking to buy the LI's. Also would like to have Escort live if its worth the money.

I've ran into several problems doing research on my own. Having Beltronics or Escort. In that Escort use to have updates on the regular and seriously lacked on beltronics side. Technology interface, and new innovation. Performance, etc. Also I've ran into the decision between the 9500ci and the 8500ci plus. Is there a difference in performance? I would want the ZR4's, so I'm hoping the 8500ci plus is the 9500ci without the laser jammers. Also any other suggestions. Thanks

Choice is simple in your case: STiR Plus and LI it is

Yeah, if you want custom install without ZR4, you want the Bel STIR Plus. IT's about 99% identical to the 9500ci. It doesn't have the "shifters," and a couple of the features are slightly different, plus you get a man's voice. :P The radar horn is the same as the 9500ci (and the Redline), plus it has band segmentation for Ka which should improve I/O performance.
