    Default Is X-band dead?

I live in a neighboring state and every time I drive through NJ I turn x-band back on but I have not gotten an x-band hit in over a decade. Is X-Band dead? Are there tiny towns within NJ that still use X-band? Or is this just an urban legend that has been hanging around for too long?

It might as well be. I've had a v1 for 5 years and it's on every time the car is started and one time I got a x alert 4 years ago on i77 in sc and I remember what I said (wow x band sir really!!!)

There are over half dozen Ohio State patrol cars still using X-band in Ohio. I lost memory of the car numbers after six.

Does anyone still make and sell new x-band radars? I would think that it would die off because court cases would stop holding up after there are no more new x-band radars available. Even if they are calibrated on a regular basis, who would trust 20+ year old electronics and would it stand up in court (yea yeah I know cops are supposed to do a visual estimate and the radar is just a backup...)

MPH finally stopped selling the K55 maybe 3-4 years ago if memory serves right.

The Python 3 is offered in X band, but I seriously doubt there are many sales given that there is almost zero difference in price between it and K band, and uses a much larger antenna. I remember seeing some Python 1s in X band in NC about 11-12 years ago, but the last X band I remember encountering were some K55s in Indiana back in 2002.

So NJ and Ohio are the only confirmed places using X? I have it turned off after I have driven in Texas, Colorado, New Mexico, and Oklahoma and never seen it.

Lowndes County MS still uses a Black Face MPH K-55 X band (Most MPH are white face cans). That thing is so big and so old, Fred Flintstone got clocked by it......This Leo hit me doing about 20 over psl, he did not like it. At the MAG in Columbus MS, you can see all of the MPH X bands....(Athens AL, Sevierville TN uses X)
