    Default FYI---1999 to 2003 BMW Z8

I was driving behind my friend's 2001 BMW Z8 and my V1 keeps get a reading of front LASER. Then I also tried it with the 8500 x50 same result. Our radar will get a reading of a laser about 5 to 30 feet. The BMW z8s' tail light are made out of kind of laser red color.

Sounds like your friend has higher end LED tail lamps

LED tail lights don't set off laser because they don't blink. A fluorescent bulb's transformer makes it blink and will set it off. It must have some sort of plasma light like the trailblazers 3rd brake light.

"The Z8 is the first car ever with neon turn signals and brake lights that illuminate ten times faster than conventional bulbs, giving other drivers more time to react."

They failed to note that the much older, $120,000 cheaper, Lincoln Mark VIII LSC had the same technology in the brake light.
