I just wanted to say that I've been glued to these boards reading everything I can for the past few days and I'm pretty excited about getting set up. I'm definitely going to get one of the M3 antenna RDs and possibly a LI quad setup. Looking forward to making my own save videos for youtube
I live in Ontario and own a small sporty car and a sport bike. Most travel is on rural 2 lane roads with lots of curves and hills. Mostly highway driving going through small towns. I do travel across Ontario and through the US a fair bit. Regular border crossings too. I doubt there's any escort live users where I live. I personally have never used a radar detector and don't know anyone using them either.
I know it's illegal, don't care. I am worried about the possibility of being out of town and getting impounded to remove a laser jammer / remote rd install.
I'm not overly concerned about border crossings but should I be?
Also how much warning do I get on curvy/hilly roads? Mostly worried about oncoming cruisers as opposed to stationary radar traps. Do they even use I/O?
Is there a noticeable performance difference between a STI-R Plus and a STI Magnum/Redline? $500 worth of performance?
With a window mounted RD would I need to see/have access to the display? I'd like to conceal it very well. Can I still wire a remote on-off switch with these?
How important are segmentation? filtering?
Does the added sensitivity of the RL outweigh the proper ramp up of the Magnum?
How essential is it to have a LJ setup in Ontario? Can I get by without it? What about in the US?
Is the parking assist excuse valid in Ontario? will it get me off the hook for LI's?
I track the car so it does get inspected by the officials. Is this going to be a problem LJ specifically?
Veil? worthwhile product or snake oil? Will it affect my shine/finish? The front of the car is 3m ventureshield wrapped too. All black, no chrome.
