The real fun comes in the next couple weeks when the new Max 360 starts being tested against the Valentine One.

If one goes to the Escort Forum, the 360 is not getting out of the gate too fast in the car race, more like a flat tire. Complaints are out there. Read before you buy!.....

So far it looks like the new CAS (Collision Avoidance System) filtering is working to some extent which is a good thing. Not perfect but the first of the MAX series that can actually filter out some of these systems.

The arrows are also working but initial reports are showing a lag in some instances between when the detector alerts and when the alert display / arrows kick in. That may have been improved with version 1.2 of the firmware. Another arrow related problem is a more significant delay in switching from front -> side -> rear as you pass the source. We have seen it take between 4-9 seconds after passing the source to switch from the front to rear. Not up to snuff with the V1 in this category.

Quality issues........paint flaking off the control buttons and windshield mounts falling apart. Performance issues. The 33.6xx falsing seems to have manifested itself as a 33.4xx false on the 360. Seems to be initiated with a false K-Band alert that switches over to a 33.4xx Ka false which sometimes requires a reset (pwr cycle) of the detector to get rid of.

Also, it's not performing anywhere near the advertised claims for detection range, at least on the most popular Ka frequency (34.7 ka) and K-Band. Getting seriously beat by the RedLine and even bargain priced detectors like the Uniden LRD950. In a nutshell, it's a MAX so far.

BTW........the LRD950 even beat the RedLine on one of the 34.7 tests and tied it on K-Band. Roy should really consider getting a working copy of the LRD950 and update his review, it's is performing very well in every test I have seen (with the exception of Roys) and alot of experienced users are blown away by it's value and performance.
