You may have heard that police agencies are trying to ban the Google Waze app so the next question becomes will they also try to ban Escort Live, CB radios or even your cell phone.
What are your thoughts??
Will They Try Banning Escort Live Next?

Conceivably if EL could approach the size of WAZE, but I seriously doubt it.
Waze was purchased for nearly $1 BILLION (that's with a "B," boys and girls). The value of that app alone is more than the total combined value of ALL of the detector companies! Furthermore, the full functionality of EL is limited to only Escort owners (a FAR FAR smaller number of users than WAZE). In other words, EL will never ever approach the significance of Waze to appear on their "radar" (so to speak).
It is estimated in 2014 that WAZE could have a user base of 115 MILLION users and nearly 200 MILLION by then end of 2015! With all of the attention it is getting, those numbers may even increase.

When I first started using Waze years ago, the number of users around me were a couple hundred. Now literately in the thousands.
And I live in Northern Virginia...Nazi land for local Govt.
Cops pulled people over for flashing their lights to worn people they were handing out tickets.
A Federal judge ruled in the favor of the motorist. Flashing Headlights To Warn Other Drivers Of Speed Traps Is Protected By First Amendment, Federal Judge Rules
That being said...I think "we the motorist are safe."
Not a chance in hell Google is going to back down and shut off snitching on little piggy.
And there is not a snowball chance in hell that a federal judge is going to side with the Govt.
So now they say its dangerous for the officer...
With the number of deaths of LEO'S sky rocketing the last couple of years...This is what they are worried about....WAZE or even Escort Live (Sorry Roy, I roll with Valentine One..Not that other detector.)
Hopefully the chief's do more with their time then ponder on ways to get rid of Waze.
Like a THUG needs Waze to carry out an execution.
Man has had no problem killing cops long before WAZE came to life.
A simple argument....The thug that uses WAZE to kill a cop would make it that much easier to convict him. When the THUG leaves a digital trail from logging into Waze.
It would only help the prosecution execute the cop killer. (Unless you live in Maryland where the Governor recently commuted all the death sentences.) WTF ???
Thanks for letting me vent Roy!

Who knows? The way courts rule, nothing will surprise me any more. Someday, I'll get to wed a pig who uses a cell phone and has FCC call letters!....

Don't believe the hype overall LEO deaths are down and have been going down the past decade. National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund: Causes of Law Enforcement Deaths so the point is mute. They say its for officer safety, BS!! We all know what its really for. Revenue generations. Plain and simple. They gelt use to the funding coming in, then when it starts to dry up they have to blame someone or something. WAZE is just a scapegoat
I wouldn't think it is even practically possible and for this reason.
Let's say the Google succumbed and dropped the LEO markings, people could (would) start using an alternative warning as a substitute, such as "Missing Sign," an alert I have yet to encounter or even an alert like a "fake" camera or something else. We'd figure out something to go in their place.

Love that article. Chucky Schmucky Schumer makes the case for the app facilitating "illegal activity." Interesting. I suppose we are all presumed to be "guilty," not innocent anymore today. I think if you are sober enough to be able to use WAZE, I suspect you may be sober enough to drive, but hey maybe that's just me.
If Schumer is really interested in looking into criminal activity, why doesn't he just pursue his colleague J. Corzine, another Democrat:

Interestingly it reminds me so much my early years being raised in one if former Soviet block countries back in 70 where everyone was persumed guilty until proven innocent and when people we judged and sentenced in favor of some those who kept the power, not the law. We are already are being traced by agencies using internet, phones, media to communicate. So now they try to cut people off those media, restrict communication because someone has pulled nonsensical hypothesis. How many of us already has its 'file' that can be used against us if we slip? Seems history likes to repeat itself.
I agree with opinion that people will always find the way to oppose regime whether it applies to countries, regions, media or information exchange. We do not live in China after all.
