    Default Redline :-(

Havent been on here in a long time and need some advice. Been using detectors for almost 30 years and have always enjoyed escort products. Been using the redline for about 4 years and have been extremely pleased. I don't have to tell you about the k falses lately. It's become maddening. Yes I've tried tsr and auto settings but due to bsm vehicles it's become...well you know.

I drive about 50\50 city and highway. Its range is incredible but due to falses Ive even drug out my old X50 for daily use. May just use that again!

I like Escort so how is the range on the Max360 and IX compared to Redline and X50? I love my redline but...

    Thanks!

I'll answer your question (instead of dinging the forum with a smile).

It's my opinion that the range of the 360 and iX are more than sufficient. The Redline is dated and while it remains one of the more sensitive detectors, I personally consider filtering (of K-band lane departure systems) as being more important. In either case, the 360 and iX do a good job, not perfect, but good.

I think it really comes down to if you care for the arrows or not and are they worth the 150 increase. The iX is nice because of its Auto NoK sensitivity mode which helps reduce stationery falses from shopping markets. Great for driving on roads like Route 1 through small towns where you don't have to rely on lockouts.

Thanks ninec1. I ended up purchasing the IX. Will post my findings after some use. You know how it is, been almost a week and no real alerts when you want to test!

Btw also have enjoyed learning from your expertise on the different forums.

Super Dave...I feel you. I got my Passport from Roy when it first hit the market..and I love it...BUT this K mess can drive one, insane. Here is what The Mortician has found. TSR...all the K alerts. It may be just me but, I seem to be able to sniff it all out. I-57 from Chicago tot24..Often driven. SO MUCH CONSTRUCTION, they have set up the sensors everywhere..even moving them. I marked all the false K's...and by the alert timing/sounds..I seem to be able to sniff a REAL K alert, out. First..To me it seems, K band radar is not widely used, where I travel (Chicago to DAB...Back..Over to Louisiana...back. Ka 10-1 used. Laser, of course. Again, I am a 10-15 over driver. With Live/Waze running..If I keep my eyes peeled, I am aok. Even around Atlanta (They look at plates more than speed, if I may. The real K alerts I get are fast...you have to be quick with the brake/have a good rabbit in front of you. Anyway-it seems I have either just been lucky or, I have caught on. Be well, MartyTheMortician. (I miss Roy). (john DUHH--why ur comment?) Hi, V G...Nine C1
