I know the wisdom is that you cannot use more than one radar detector at a time that are in close proximity ( say 3 feet ). I am wondering though if you use radar detectors that have stealth technology like the new Redline EX and others if you could use them together since they would not “see” each other.

Here is some background on why I am asking. The reason I ask this question is and I will admit that I use radar detectors to speed on my motorcycle. I also have a 3 head ALP laser jammer setup. I do long distance rides that require me to move along at a good pace so that I can get some rest at some point during the ride. I have ridden 6100 miles in 92 hours ( with a couple hours rest a day ), a couple time I rode 4560 miles in 70 hours and many times 1525 miles in 19 hours. I also do some other types of rides that really require radar detectors and laser jammers. My last ride ( 3030 miles to Mexico and back from south Florida ) I was hit by laser 3 times and radar 5 times, all were traffic enforcement. You can check out my website and my ride reports to get an idea of why I am asking this question.

I have been very fortunate ( with a V1 and laser jammers ) that on all of my long distance endurance rides I have only received one speeding ticket back in 2007.

I really like the V1 ( I like it so much I carry a backup V1 ready to go ) and it has served me very well for the last 12 years ( yes, I have sent them in for updates many times ) but I have been following the advancements by Escort Redline and now Uniden and I am wondering if I ran my V1 with a Redline would I get better protection. I do not segment my V1 as I have been hit with radar from so many frequencies across the country that I do not want to restrict the frequency range of the V1.

I am trying to find out if I could get a wider range and longer distance of “protection” if I ran multiple radar detectors with different capabilities.

I have a couple more extreme ride attempts planned and if possible I would like more opportunities to pick up radar.
