    Default V1 VS. x50 instant-on test......question

as u can see u this video http://www.radardetector.net/V1-vs.-...otout-865t.php
the V1 beats the x50 as u can tell in the video but of course bc we all know the v1 has a rear antena...............and the x50 and all other detectors have that stupid "reflector" ...but who ever man that video plaese do another test from the front of the radars...im sher the x50 will do just ass good. we all know the v1 ownes in rear detection but i would just like so see the tests from the front not rear........98% of instant-on is from the front NOT rear....
Do i make a good point?

Yea, but what gets me is that a radar detector has to be at full alert to make ppl happy. The fact that it is going off should tell the driver to slow down, no matter how strong of an alert.

Actually the X50 and other detectors dont have a "reflector" in them... they just have an antenna pointing forwards, and it relies on the bounce/reflection from objects in front.

Where does it say that the test was done from the rear? The video doesn't show it, and I don't see it anywhere in that thread.

Even if the test WAS done with the Escort antenna aimed away from the gun, the radar waves travel at ~ speed of light, so it wouldn't take any noticably more time for the radar to "reflect" into the Escort's antenna.

    Default instant on from rear

Actually, in VA on route 95 cops love to sit on the on-ramps to the highway with ka band. Even instant on KA or K is used sometimes. In NJ cops use rear instant on X band too.

If the test was not done from the front, that would be a problem for me.
Has anyone dtermined if it was or not?
