Question about the "alert testing"

I was looking at the constant on and instant on results from the SML tests.

Ok on the x50 for example: On the 1.5 mile marker it picked up the K band at full alert. When it reached the 1 mile marker it only gave a 6/9 alert. Whats the reason behind this? Does it follow the guidelines of the "spread" of the wavelenghts at a given distance? Ie. 1000 feet, the "spread" is 85 feet wide?

I actually wondered about that myself. Also, they used a 2-second burst for the instant-on testing (if I'm remembering correctly). I know the test said that the officers were instructed to operate the guns as they would in the field, but do real-world officers really wait a full 2 seconds using instant-on? I would like to see some results with a 1-second test too, in the next set of published results. The instant-on video in these forums has made me more than a little concerned with this.

With the instant on I guess its kind of a luck of the draw situation. Hopefully there are more cars ahead that hes sampling, the more times he samples the more chances of your detector picking it up. I seen that with the instant on some RD's detected for examle 4 of the 9.

There's definitely some kind of misprint there or something...

At 1 1/2 miles, it says Attowave has 9 LEDs total and the RX-65 has 6 total.
But at 1 mile, it says they both have only 4 LEDs total?
