Default Colorado, Montana, Wyoming, Panhandle of Texas

thats where im gonna be cruising through during my roadtrip. I just ordered a valentine 1, so what can I expect (in terms of radar bands used) in those states??

Highway 287 from Dallas to Colorado!! then From Colorado up to Billings, Montana. Should be fun!! oh and im driving in the daytime.

And how much warning will I get driving 95mph?

you're gonna run into anything and everything. i would recomend atleast getting a can of veil and possibly even a blinder since the use of lidar is increasing dramaticaly.

If you drive 95mph, you deserve to get a ticket. A huge ticket.

I have noticed a few on here saying they do 30+ over the limit...and think V-1, Escort/Bell, VEIL, Blinder, etc will save your ass. They won't. Those items sure ain't gonna stop ya from losing control and hitting a guardrail, or worse another vehicle, head-on. ops:

i'll drive 95mph in bursts if i have a clear stretch of road... in traffic its a different story ops:

ive driven at those speeds before. not recklessley weaving in and out of traffic.

Driving that much over the speed limit IS reckless driving.

But that is just my opinion.....

it is not wreckless all the time. if there's cars all over that place then ya i can see where that would be wreckless but if you're out on your own i see nothing wrong with exceeding the speed limit by that much.

    kaiserjacob,

from our last driving experience [out west] we routinely cruised in excess of the century mark. its very easy to do so in the sparce parts of these states and anything slower feels like you are walking - literally - especially when the only thing ahead of you is another mountain range thats about 80 miles away.

its the closest thing to the autobahn this side of the pond. montana once recognized this fact with "safe and prudent" enforcement mentality even though its seems lock-step out of our politically correct society today.

in our experience we mostly encountered steady k and ka operation and each of the big three gave us plenty of reaction time.

i would strongly suggest that you obey the speed limits when in city limits, but once out in the open range, things tend to really quiet down.

a texas dps officer once told me that in the hotter months be wary of approaching trees. officers tend to stay under the shade when they run their intercept. who blames 'em. its a bit of knowledge that may be of help to you.

    safe travels...

    excellent information fellas...

i hear colorado is a place to watchout for. i ALWAYS slow down in city limits, but love to cruise on open road.

    my personal feeling
    1. ALWAYS stay in the right lane, even when speeding unless passing
    2. keep your eyes peeled 24/7, trust ur instinct
    3. watch out for hills, trees, overpasses, etc.
    4. keep the V1 and veil on thick!

    any other helpful hints??
