    1. It means that the detector will alert 100% of the time when the radar wave is present for 500ms
    2. Scanner rebanding is the upgrade of all radio system to new frequenciesto like 700MHz i believe...However I doubt the switch will be instantanious
    3. Scanners with highway patrol alert can pick up keyed for up to 3miles is my guess i have heard up to people. On my scanner and mobile antenna I can hear them for awhile if the system uses reperters and such. However i have yet to find my scanner that useful. My CB radio is alot better investment in finding out where the police are on interstates
    4. It is explainned at this link

I just recently wrote this all down in another thread, here is the repost.

POP is extremely short bursts of radar, you can think of it as very WEAK radar. POP comes in two "burst" forms, 67 ms (duration of burts) and even faster 16 ms. There is a 67 ms Ka band version that is tuned at 33.800, this equipment is called BEE III made by MPH. There is a 67 ms K band version and then there is a 16 ms K band version which comes only as a handheld radar gun referred to as Z series. I believe there was a X band unit but can not recall details of that one.

POP is suppose to be used as a precursor to InstantOn (full power burst), in order to get a speed approximation without alerting RD users of a potential speed trap. Once the officer finds a violator, he has to switch to InstantOn inorder to have a speed lock. The time needed to aquire a drivers speed for all these steps is just as instantaneous as InstantOn.

These equipments were normally mass produced as ConstantOn/InstantOn equipment. MPH has added the POP feature to their new units. This feature needs to be specifically turned on and confirmed on before actual use.

That about sums it up. As far as the number of units out on the streets. Basicly you will be hard pressed to find the 67 ms units. You will be even harder pressed to find a faster 16 ms unit. POP is the new chicken little of false alerts.
