    Default Nissan/Infiniti

I have a 98 Infiniti I30 (same as a maxima) anyway im wondering if i will lose any radar (not laser) sensitivity mounting my detector (hopefully soon to be V1) up above the mirror, will the tint bother it?

    thanks

You can mount it behind it if the strip doesn't have any metal in it.I know some manufactures have metal in that upper strip. You would be better off mounting it right below the strip just to be safe..

I did that on my corolla and it wasn't pickuping up right so I had to mount it just below.

Normal tint will bother it. You may notice weaker performance. I suggest mounting it just below the rear view mirror.

Mount it like this if you want to high mount it.

This is okay except LEO's genrally target a license plate when using laser. If the RD is off centered it will effect the performance a tad. For maximum performance mount it just below the Rear view mirror low enough for it to look out the back but as high as possible. I know "for maximum laser detection performace it should be mounted low", but if radar is a bigger concern I would go with this
