GOT RIPPED OFF BY RMR
ops: Like an Idiot, I went out and bought a RMR C430 before I even found your site. Well that was the biggest waste of money I ever spent.
Within a week, I was clocked by a K band instant on and a Ka Band
Luckily the Cops I knew. I got off with a verbal warning. I promptly boxed that crap back up and sent it back. They refunded half my money after a heated argument I had with Raul at RMR. I then purchased a whistler cordless for my wife and a Cobra for my truck. It has saved me countless tickets so far. When I get my money saved up, I plan on ordering two Bel 65's from you. I wish I could tell you about my conversation with Raul personally... He was speachless when I had my brother, who is a state trooper here with me when I called him and told him his 430 didnt work worth a crap at jamming...lol Thanks for the info Radar Roy. Kudos.

Ripped Off
Yeah, I got the hook up now. I read Radar Roy's reviews and then I have friends that have "access" to K and Ka Band Radars that are attached to State and Parish Cruisers. So we spent an hour the other testing out our particular detectors. We moved the cruiser 3 times to get three angles of attack and once while moving. My Cobra and My wife's Whistler did above average for this terrian in Louisiana. His Bel 65 Kicked butt. Got a reading 5 miles away with an instant on radar. We had CB communication the entire time. I do have one quirk with every detector I have seen. When I am using my Bluetooth cellphone headset, the phone rings and the detector goes off on K band every time. Found that quite odd, although I am just in the baby stages of the skill of driving to defeat radar traps and what not. There are so many little towns here in Louisiana that have 3 people living there 2 are cops the the other guy is the mayor. They pay thier salry on the tickets with Mayors court. You will be found guilty and pay a very hefty fine which goes straight to the municipality. The state boys are pretty good with thier guns too, Most have the Gennisis Decatur II or III's all on Ka Band with instant On. Most of the City and parish (county) cops here are using K band. I have yet to come across a laser device. We do have a national forest ranger around here that uses old school X band the size of a microwave on his dash that can be picked up 10 miles away. I scored me a hide-a-plate lenscover for my plate since these places are getting red light cams. As soon as I can afford a Bel 65 I am getting 2. I think this is the one I want. My friend has one but another has a Escort 8500 I think they are both top line units. Have you checked out the scorpion. Is that worth the money.

Roy has a review for the Scorpion on his site.

I would never get a radar jammer. It's the biggest waste of money! As long as you have a top of the line radar detector and good driving evasive skills, you shouldn't be getting tickets from radar.
It's also illegal in all states, it is NOT worth getting caught.
If you need more protection, get a laser jammer, veil, and laser sheild (if you have a front license plate)

Talked To ROY today
Got to talk to Roy today about my experiences. I gots another problem here. The Local PD's around here are using Unmarked Units to run traffic in. In Louisiana that is not a pratice condoned by the law. According to the State Police, you can only use Unmarked units as Backup or Detective or Drug Enforcement. There is a Law called FLIGHT FROM AN OFFICER. It clearly states, it is the refusal to obey a stop signal given from a uniformed police officer from a vehicle clearly marked as a police vehicle with a visual and audible signal. I have contacted the states atty general office and they say they dont handle those complaints, The state police dont handle it either. So looks Like it is up to the police Dept to handle it. Most of which dont have an internal affairs dept. and they also have Mayors court. So a real judge does not decide the cases.
