Default Magnetics

I'm thinking of designing a Radar...um....defer'er? How does radar work around magnetics? I'm thinking of creating a magnetic field at the front of my car to make radar waves scatter, or absorb, not sure yet.

Any thoughts?

It wouldn't be sending out "false" radar signals to "Jam" it, so a radar gun wouldn't see radar while not sending, it would act like there wasn't anything there, correct?

It wont work... You need to go back and study physics again.. To gain a powerful enough magnetic field would be near impossible for a mobil operation and would probably screw with your cars on board computer and not allow anything electronic to work, not to mention it would be a big disaster.

You really cant get around radar, not even the most stealth planes can avoid radar, they can only limit the effectiveness of radar thus allowing them to fly between radar stations undetected. Granted having a radar gun its 1 high powered at a close range, so trying to build a stealth car would be impossible. You can in theory get older radar guns crank up the transmit power and run them constant on all the time, but they tend to run out of tune and the cop will know...

your best bet it to have a good detection, rather than trying to jam.

you could always fry all the cars around you, including the cop
But that would cause a traffic jam...

Lol, I could use that on the jeep, no computers.....

But I was just experimenting with magnetics.

What kind of experiments are you doing? That involve magnetics that can distort radio waves?

well hopfully creating a small electro magnet behind the bumper. I'm hoping this will, Pull or push, the waves and distort them.

Call me a noob, but wouldn't that affect other parts in your car?

Depends on the strength and components. My computers are in the cabin, as well as my boost controller ect....

You know those huge electromagnets which are attached to a crane at a junkyard for picking up cars and steel? Even that magnetic field is not powerful enough to even begin to noticeably distort or absorb or deflect electromagnetic waves.
