The transmitter for each band is only about 10-15 mw (TPO). With antennas, each band is probably a watt or two ERP at the most. It's important to remember that the Scorpion isn't trying to "overpower" the radar gun's signal. It receives the radar and transmits a moving carrier close enough in freq to the police radar to look like a real doppler return and confuse the gun...

He uses these for Ka: http://www.mdtcorp.com/productdetail.asp?rec_id=86

They're rated at 7.5mW, so under 10dBm.

X and K I think are 7-10dBm.

I wonder... what would the feasability be of sending the schematics of the devices to a Chinese manufacturer who would undoubtedly crank out a few million of them at a fairly inexpensive rate. Would they get intercepted immediately at US Customs or would perhaps Beijing crack down on that proposal?

Cellular phone jammers are legal IF you have the permit to run them.

...ya don't need a permit...these are used in meeting halls, public buildings, libraries, and similar to stop dissruptions in whatever activities go on in those places......

....now, intentionally jamming a cell phone out in public will be a totally different thing altogether......
