20 Mile Laser save, & V1 picked up the scatter
So this weekend was the turning point for me, I now love my CB. I've had it since November, but it didn't help me out at all before while I was driving back and forth on I-80. The truckers on a I-57 are completely different. On my round trip from Champaign to Chicago for the autoshow, they called out every single cop (8 for 8) on the highway.
On the way up
1 @ 305 I-57 SB Rolling
2 Cops at I-57 308, not running anything, just sitting
2 "DOT Bears", ISP Tahoes that blew by me going about 90mph, need to make sure I watch my mirrors
1 Naperville PD running 35.5 I/O down a neighborhood street.
On the way back
1 @ 280 I-57 Rolling NB running I/O Ka
The last one this morning was the best, around mile marker 265 the northbound truckers started telling me there were two smokeys running speed traps at 241. At least 6 truckers commented in the next 20 miles that they were still there. So around 243 I slowed down to 70 just encase they moved. When I get to 241 I'm about 300ft from the car in front of me, going the PSL. I get a laser alert from the V1 for an instant (scatter from the guy up front), then a break, then all my jammers & V1 go off. I wasn't speeding so I killed everything immediately, just nice knowing they still work.
I don't have a video camera, but was able to get a decent picture.

And I've yet to have a comment from a trucker about a GTO w/ a CB antenna.

We professional drivers like to know where the LEOS are at most of the time. Giving bear reports is very important. While just today in my lengthy drive, I saw 18 LEOS which I thought was quite high.
1. Escort Redline 2. Bel STi 3. V1 3.872 4. X50 5.Whistler Pro78SE 6. Escort 9500i 7.Escort 8500 8.Bel 980
11 Cheetah C50, Tom Tom 130, Garmin 265WT/Traffic
12-18 Scanners Pro 43,57,94,96 & Regency (relic scanner)
Uniden BCT8, Uniden 996T
19. Car/President AX144 1981 CB, Wilson 1000 magnet mount
20. Truck/Cobra 18 WXST II CB, 2 Francis Fiberglass whips
21-23 Spectre II RDD, 2 VG-2 Interceptor RDDs
24-25 RS HTX-242 Ham radio, Maxon MURS radios

Re: 20 Mile Laser save, & V1 picked up the scatter
Welcome to owning the most effective countermeasure there is. For Interstate trips, over 95% of the time I would say just a CB will crush ANY RD/Jammer combo there is.
I have often asked those without CB's, yet with other (rather useless) countermeasures ie: V1/9500ci/LI to run the Gauntlet with me a few times, so far there are no takers.
Glad to see it has started to pan out for you... and isn't it better to know about a trap 20Miles in advance rather then .2Miles?

CB has it's merits on rural stretches of highway, it's still useless in Chicago because you have major interstates crossing each other every couple miles so you can't tell which highway they're on. You also have a bunch of people just randomly talking at all the warehouses along the interstate, so I pretty much turn in off in the urban areas. Those are the times I still love my rather useless countermeasures ie: V1/9500ci/LI

Re: 20 Mile Laser save, & V1 picked up the scatter
Yeah, but on Interstate stretches where LEO's know how to use their equipment, those devices are useless... which is what I was referring to (interstate rather then city).
Honestly... if you would like, you are also invited to come to the gauntlet, I will ride through there with you, and you will see how useful your ci/LI/V1 are against real LEO's... I just wish I could bring the gauntlet to you guys, and ill take your cake-fluff enforcement... you know a little swap.
Bottom line is, for interstates, CB's win hands down (ESPECIALLY if you know drivers), and for the city, RD's/Jammers are the ticket, hands down.

Re: 20 Mile Laser save, & V1 picked up the scatter
In Oklahoma where I have to run long straights with no rabbits the CB is the best there is for countermeasure. I can see how in city area it would be a pain. So just keep it for road trips.

^^^
There is no effective CB set-up without the big antenna, otherwise we would all have them. Please see my reply (Actually the reply by FoolishOne) in your thread in the CB section.
Back on topic (sorta) what camera did you use, because that picture is insanely clear for a 'point and shoot' going at speeds of ~70 MPH I would assume.
