It would be ok if your area doesn't use trunking or any digital systems.. it just does plain conventional it looks like.
Actually, the Pro-84 does more and costs less. I got mine on sale for $50. Just wait till it goes on sale again:Originally Posted by Tsax444

Never mind i just got the pro97 i believe, it is a 1000 channel triple trunking scanner. so far i have been getting good reception. Any tips that you might have for me?
Tsax444,
I would look at a Uniden BC246T. Great Scanner.
The Pro 97 that you purchased is an excellent scanner as
well.
1600 Channels
Trunking
Alpha Tagging

$219 for a "like new" product?
What about additional antennas? would they even increase my range and clarity? If so what do you recommend?
Depends on what you like listening to.Originally Posted by Tsax444
For 800 mhz - I recommend either the RS800 ( Radio Shack ) or Seeker 800.
For Ham Radio - Diamond RH77CA
The Comet HT - 55 is a good antenna as well.
I have only personal used the RS800, others have recommended the
above antennas to me.
