Last night, I heard a police chase on foot. Pretty neat to hear the officer breathing very hard. Anyone else hear these once in a while?

Hello,
Yes, I hear them once in awhile here, seems our town cops like chase people or people love to run a lot to stay in shape.
Heard one last night, had been hiding in a closet and bolted out of the house via a window. They finally got him a few blocks away. My favorite foot chase was the one they had to call for a ambulance so they could removed the barbs from him getting tazered. Nothing like a zap or two to quite someone down.
Take care, hope you hear some more interesting stuff.

I heard one a few nights ago...... I love a good chase on foot,
really gets the excitement up.
The County Cops were chasing this guy through the woods. He some
how evaded them and I guess was hiding somewhere in the brush....
Of course you know what happened next.....
Release the Hounds !!!!! Pretty exciting for Charlotte.
We always have traffic chases. This was a nice change.
PS: They found the Crack pipe he tried to ditch during
the chase. These guys never learn.
I always wonder what is the percentage the bad guys actually get away from the cops. On TV they alwasy get them, but I know for a fact some get away. Its gotta be like 10-15% get away, no?
I know if you are driving over 100km in the city the cops just let the guy go.
That's some of the best scanning action, in my opinion. Reality Radio 8)Originally Posted by proudNMAmember
Sometimes I will take a scanner, and leave it on at low volume next to where I am sleeping. During the night, if there's a pursuit or something like a foot chase, I'll wake up while it's going on. I think the change in the pitch of the voices on the radios is enough to trigger waking up.
Funny edwierd, I have had that happen to me in the middle of the night before too. I find it interesting that this was brought up. 8)
There are several foot chases every day in Indy! That's why I bring my scanner to work with me. It's usually a carjacker or a crack dealer. IMPD has several K9 units roving the city at all times. If they're having a hard time catching someone, they just call in the K9 and after that it's chase over. Even the slowest K9 will easily catch the fastest crook. I can't remember the last time anyone got away, it's been a long time!

K9's are hard to beat, that's for sure.

Its been a while, but I heard one that went on for about 30 minutes or so right after I bought my first scanner. Ended up cornering the perp in a house and called for backup to make the arrest. As far as I know, they got the guy.
