That's a really good question. I had a lot of trouble with them blowing off early on, destroying some antennas and scratching up the cars. I try to use the biggest magnet base that I can find, but the antenna still seems to blow off at very high speed. I tried using shorter antennas, but surprisingly that didn't help much. Racers tape helped a bit, but looked awful and made a mess on a hot day. I do think that a stainless steel mast stays attached to the car better than a fiberglass mast due to less wind resistance of the mast, but on the other hand, the stainless mast leans over more at high speed so it's really not doing the best job (especially since the lean is towards the rear, which definitely can't help forward range). My latest solution is to mount a second magnet on the underside of the sheetmetal. That magnet just stays in place even when I remove the external antenna base. So far, so good, but drilling a hole for a through mount (or borrowing the factory hole) may be my eventual solution.Originally Posted by Toronto-radar-chopper
