    Default I don't understand!!!

I've been wanting a scanner but I don't understand all the terminology with trunking, digital, etc. I'm scared I'm gonna buy the wrong thing. My state police use the Motorola Type II Smartzone system. What do I need to pick this up? :?:

I think it has to do with how many different frequencies radios it can pick up on a trunked channel....

There are different types of trunked radio systems, Motorola I/II, GE/Ericsson EDACS, and EF Johnson LTR.

Most early trunk tracking scanners only received Motorola and EDACS, which were the most common systems in use.
