Default Please look at this link and recommend a CB

    HI All,

I'm new to CB radio's so I'm looking for something really low cost. I understand cobras makes a descent CB. I know Midland is the best, but I'm looking for something as a test to see if I should invest in a Midland.

    My choices are:

    COBRA 18 WXSTII RF

    or

    19 DXIV

    http://radioworld.ca/index.php?cPath=6_132

I'll add a 4 foot antenna with wrap coil for another $49.00

    Thanks

CB Antenna is giving you the range you're looking for and NOT the CB Radio... ANY CB Radio, assuming is in a good condition, will work with a very good antenna (Wilson 5000 in my case)... you can buy CB Radios from $50 up to $300 (Galaxy) and even more...
Durham Radio has got the best prices, Radio World a little more expensive and Lakeshore Electronics (Carlingview, south of Dixon Rd) is the most expensive... Durham Radio located in Whitby by Consumers Rd.

CBcity.com for $63 a Uniden 510xl tuned and peaked is a great CB.

Wilson Lil wil for $36 on ebay with shipping
    -or-
Wilsoin 500 for maybe less than a lil wil on ebay

That would be a great set-up

I second the Uniden Pro 510XL, Great little CB. Pair it with a really nice
antenna and you got a really nice mobile unit.

Doh. I take it my $25.00 selection for Cobras was wripped to shreds. LOL.

So I guess I should buy a uniden from Durham radio. I like those guys, just I was trying to save on the gas.

Thanks guys, I'll go with a Uniden. They are simple to operate like cobras? Volume, channel and squelch control. Don't really know what anything else means.

Sorry to hear that. So mu purchase will be a uniden CB with a Wilson antenna. No Cobras for me.

With a 2 foot antenna, is your range about 10 nautical miles?
