I just installed a new 60" Larsen glass mount scanner antenna. Although I can back my squelch town a half turn now, my C6 looks like a radio controlled car

Don't glass mounts have slightly less "performance?" Then again, with 60"...
My thoughts exactly I wonder if the 60" make up for it...Originally Posted by ELVATO

Oh jeez, I hear you...my antenna is about 70inches tall (Give or take 2inches depending on my whip placement in the mag-mount), the Whip itself is 66inches (Wilson 1000, with 66inch whip instead of 62.5stock one)... and the Talon used to look like the Red sports car off of the Game "RC PRO-AM" for NES.
As far as quality it seems that glass/fiberglass mounts do (generally) suffer in the performance field...
My only question: With the whip being that big (height not being an issue obviously) why didnt you just get a Wilson 1000 or 5000 Mag-mount? I have found that by simply moving the Mag-mount forwards/backwords one full 'mount', every 2 weeks or so, I dont get the 'swirls' all die-hard CB users talk about in their paints... also if taken off properly scratches can be avoided.
Anyways, I am assuming the Glass mount was used for the above reasons (paint/finish)? Nice set-up though, I love seeing people who have whips almost the size of mine, or even taller for that matter.
(Do you ever get the people at a stop-light looking all the way up the whip.... they start at the base and pinch their neck straining to look into the sky to find my whip at 6feet up there. )
