Default Scanner for the budget minded

My area uses mixed anolog and digital scanners.

    San Antonio/Bexar County EDACS ProVoice
EDACS Networked Standard w/ESK This EDACS ProVoice Digital system is in use for all of the City of San Antonio (Police, Fire, EMS, City Services) operations, as well as all Bexar County (Sheriff, Constables, Fire Marshal) services. Goto the Radio Reference homepage or search Pro96 and Bcd396t yahoo groups. If I am not mistaken provoice cannot be decoded. The Pro96 is on sale for 449 and will decode analog and digtial. The sensitivity off the whip is better than the Unidens. Just checked and the provoice is a no go.

You are correct, there is no scanner available today that can decode EDACS ProVoice.
