OMG People are crazy not to have a CB

This is unreal. Bear reports my radio from the moment I pulled out the driveway until the time I got off the interstate and hit the two lane 30 minutes later. I mean, I got the scoop on two in front of me running radar and and 1 behind. And every trucker that passed them wanted to yell out the alert. Granted, my detector spotted the two in front of me in enough time, but I had no clue about the one behind me. Nice......

And folks, if you play your cards right, you can get a good basic setup off fleabay for under $50. It'll be the BEST $50 you ever spend on countermeasures!!!!

My Little Wil was $30 shipped. My Cobra cb was $15 shipped. Granted, I had a misfire and bought a couple of cheap crappy antennas before I caved and got the Little Wil, but.....

Man, you gotta get one of these!!!!

Best defense for instant on and laser .. knowing he is there before you get there.. The CB radio when combined with a top of the line RD is a powerful combo of as Mike V would say "situation awareness" I would not travel without either one

Seriously. I just finished a 2500 mile trip in my spare car, with no CB, and I was nervous. Luckily, the V1 saved me at least half a dozen times, but I sure would have felt more confident with a CB. You simply cannot get a better tool for highway runs.

Yup a CB is a great thing to have especially for the bear reports but also it's great for truckers calling out road debris (had a piece of road debris a few months back take out my right front tire and passenger side mirror ) , accidents etc. and can really save ya in more ways than one.

Just today was leaving a store parking lot when a state LEO passed by with his radar on, was about to key up on 19 and give out a report when another trucker spotted him and gave out an alert

I for one won't be going on any road trips without my CB along for the ride anymore.

Being it is still summer and road construction is everywhere, the CB is valuable to advise you of a 5 mile back up ahead so you can get off and take other routes before you are in the backup wondering WTF. I avoided hrs of sitting in traffic this year on I-70 in Indiana and Ohio by keeping a close ear to the CB.

I have been saying this forever: If you don't have a CB radio, you DO not have a complete set of countermeasures... and thats the bottom-line. It is simply the most underrated countermeasure out there... and it has so many additional benefits that jammers/RD's cannot compete with. There is something about precise human reports that beats the 'interface' of the electronic gadgets. I like hearing "Kodiak with a Kodak, at MM 347 and 1/4 facing eastbound"... amazing.


Not to mention being warned 5,10,15+ Miles in advance is so much nicer then a few thousand feet before the LEO.



I agree, any forum member who doesn't have a CB does not have a complete set of countermeasures, and they are crazy to overlook a $100 countermeasure, when many have spent thousands on RD's/Jammers (Myself included in there).



I simply cannot imagine driving on an interstate/thruway/highway without one. This forum section should rival that (in thread numbers and post count) of the 'Laser Jammers' section and any 'specific' RD company... its sad it doesn't. Oh well, its just more bear-bait.

Yeah, it's just unreal. Valentine my butt. The king of the highway is the CB. You're right, forget arrows. I get lane of travel, mile marker, number of cars...all from 5-10 miles out at least. Of course, a detector is still invaluable b/c, well, there's always that LEO that gets missed. But still, I can't believe what a great tool this is for the arsenal!
