Thread: scanner

    Default scanner

Several years back I had a uniden bearcat BCT-12 or 10 (I think). It looked like a radar detector and mounted to the windshield. After you selected your state, it would pick up highway patrol radio signals and notify the driver how close you were to the signal origin, and then play the radio transmission that caused the alert. It was a pretty handy unit.

Does uniden or anybody else make something similar today?

AFAIK, bear tracker only gives you visual alerts, but close call will tune to nearby frequencies. digital radios will decode digital TRS then.
