I just got this nice little CB to add to the countermeasures repertoire... this gives a fair amount of options for me to dial-in the long-range receptions.


Not the best out there, but she will do, certainly a respectable rig for a 4-Wheeler that just has it for countermeasures I think.

Thanks for the compliments! She does look good (IMO), I enjoy the look of the black color and frequency display to it. I wish it was blue and Back-lit like the 939 though, but its a 959 for a reason (LSB/USB).


I wish I had tons of room to install it... the civic is a crunch (Its not sports-car in terms of everything being like a 'cockpit') but its kind of tight in its own respect. I may have to mount it over on the passenger side to be honest (where there is a ton of room). Not sure yet.

Actually: it already has a few tricks up its sleeve Rob. (I think we are on the same wavelength there).


The guy I bought it from -in person- (Wholesaler of CB equipment) had just got it in (when I called him... along with 3K worth of other equipment coming in), so: he added a little magic and viola she was no longer 'stock' when I got there.


Mehhh... no need to be jealous: Don't you have a Cobra 29 among other CB's too (ie: 510/19)? Basically (as you well know) they are the same sort of CB each with a few pluses and minuses (full chassis).

I got (lucky) and got mine directly from a Wholesaler who I am lucky enough to know.



With that said: I have heard great things out of Sparky's: The way he tunes his products is top notch for sure is what everyone says.


Some other radios in that class are the: Cobra 25series, and the Uniden PC68 series... some other options for you.

I have a Cobra 29 NH ST and a Palomar 450, I am putting in as soon as my antenna gets here. I haven't played with CB's for a number of years and just decided to get back into it. I am considering a smaller chassis due to room, but the 29 will find a spot to fit as I already have it. I have no idea if it has been tuned, but my mothers husband (long haul trucker) used to have it, so I would guess it has been. Sparky gives the Galaxy 919 good marks. I really love the way the Galaxy radios look.

Yeah, that radio would be blowing some smoke... the DX959 may be getting a TOP GUN Modulator for Christmas... though it does not currently have it.

The Galaxy radios seem to love those... any of them.
