    many people modify their radio's heavily by themselves (who are into CB's as a hobby)... they really aren't all that complicated (This is rather old technology here)... but still: Doing this by yourself unless you have a detailed explanation and good understanding will most likely result in a rather poor performing radio, not to mention the possibility of a broken radio.

    Also he gives you very little information on the actual process (though it is not hard to accomplish on such a radio).


    Honestly: You want to turn down the dead-key and turn up the swing, so his 6Watt and 40 watt stuff is complete BS. That radio will not pump 40watts out of it... with a 'peak and tweak'.

    I would guess definitely under 20 watts. I can't say for sure as I've never owned one of these and measured it. The 148, which is Cobra's higher end model, will swing about 18 after a peak and tune.
