i'm just frustrated that digital scanners that pick up clear (non encrypted) signals have pay-through-the-nose prices.

Otherwise my county uses APCO 25 digital.

They've been EDACS Narrow using ProVoice for a few years now on the police here.

It really, really sucks. It's a public service which tax payers pay for, it should be open to public ears EXCEPT when special requests are granted for encryption, ie: stings, drug busts, etc.

I feel ya. The DFW Airport went to that severa years ago, and unlike their previous trunking system, they aren't programming radios for the news media anymore. "Homeland Security" my arse.

Oooh! I like that idea! Make them get a warrant from a judge for encryption anytime they use it, and it would only be temporary authorisation for a specific operation!

I totally agree in this video above she was encrypting clearing statments and what not to central? Is that really nessaccary? I mean I agree it's paid for by the public. It acording to the freedom of information act should be "Public." Knowledge? Should it not?

Although they have altered your freedom of information act to say, it's ok for us to send "Deceptive Signals." Is how the FCC words it, but it's not ok for you "Joe" citzen? Thats not right??
