    Default Added a CB

I got a Cobra 19 DX something or other along with a Francis 3 foot antenna. I was going to get a Wilson but the friend who's going to do the SWR deal said that the francis antenna was the easiest to tune.

It may be useful or it may be a PITA but I figgured it would be cool to try.

The plan is to mount the antenna in the center of the trunk lid so I was wondering if reception will be OK. I don't plan on transmitting much.

Got enough of that back when I was a medic...

Hope to have the V1 waiting on me when I get home

Congrats!!! Hope it works well for you, and you get a lot of enjoyment from it.

x2... Check out the video in the countermeasures videos section (via Foolishone)... it shows a CB in action.

The video by FO is pretty cool. I actually have a day off today and hope to get the CB installed.

Still waiting for the UPS girl to bring the V1...

UPS GIRL FTW! I wish I had one.

All in all... installing a CB should take less than an hour including hardwiring it.

Maybe for a first-timer two hours is more appropriate, the biggest thing is cutting off antenna lengths if needed.

Got it in today but I still need to tune the antenna. I mounted it down low where the factory CD changer went and it's really unobtrusive and looks pretty good. Now the antenna is another story Looks like I'm driving a radio controlled car...

I also mounted a remote speaker on the B pillar which I'll use for my other counter measures as well. I can hear the CB really well even with the radio playing.

I've seen a device at truck stops that runs the CB audio through the stereo so I figure I can use it to run the RD/jammer alerts through the CB speaker.

    Still no V1

Congrats on getting one. I love mine and run it everyday. The best countermeasure you get get and just spend 100 dollars for a start.
